Downes Project

Homeowners Greg & Christie Downes reached out to Evergreen Hardscaping to design and install their new custom swimming pool. During the excavation process, the project encountered an unexpected challenge: a large granite deposit. Traditional drilling equipment proved ineffective, necessitating alternative methods for removal.

Evergreen Hardscaping successfully blasted and removed the granite, reclaiming the stone for use in several property features. The reclaimed granite was utilized to construct retaining walls and incorporated into a custom-built waterfall. The pool coping, sitting walls, and firepit were adorned with antique Pennsylvania flagstone, while Fenoff field stone was applied to all vertical surfaces.

The patios were crafted with EP Henry Village Square paving stones, and the seating area was enhanced with a beautiful custom-built pergola. The entire pool surround and landscape were accented with CAST low voltage lighting, and the yard was enclosed with Bufftech vinyl fencing. Pennsylvania Antique slabs were strategically placed to navigate elevation changes in the yard.

This remarkable installation not only featured in EP Henry’s idea catalogue but also earned the title of “Hardscape Showcase” winner by Landscape Contractor magazine.
